Introduction:

The primary objective of the coding competition is to provide participants with a platform to demonstrate their problem-solving skills, coding proficiency, and creativity in a competitive environment.

Eligibility:

  • The competition is open to participants of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced programmers.

  • Participants must adhere to the specified registration process and deadlines. Each participant must compete individually.

Competition format:

  • The competition consists of two rounds: an online round and an on-campus/online round.

  • Both rounds will last for three hours each. Each round will feature six coding challenges or problems of varying difficulty levels.

  • The challenges may cover a broad spectrum of topics, including algorithms, data structures, mathematics, and more.

Rounds:

Online Round:

The online round allows participants to compete remotely from any location with internet access. Participants will receive access credentials and instructions for accessing the competition platform prior to the event. Solutions must be submitted electronically through Newton's website platform within the stipulated time frame.

On-campus/Online Round:

Participants can choose to compete either on-campus or online for this round. For the on-campus option,participants must be physically present at the designated competition venue. Participants must bring their own computer systems and necessary peripherals (laptops, chargers, etc.) for the competition. The organisers will provide the necessary space, internet access, power outlets, beverages, and all arrangements for participants to set up their systems. For the online option, participants can compete remotely from any location with internet access. Solutions must be submitted electronically through the designated platform within the specified time limit.

Additionally, for those who will be attending on-campus, please note that an entry fee will be charged:

Online payment: ₹150
Offline cash payment: ₹200

Submission Guidelines:

  • Participants must submit their solutions within the allocated time for each challenge.

  • Submissions must be made electronically through the designated platform provided by the organisers.

  • Each submission must include the participant's unique identifier, issued upon registration, to ensure proper identification.

Code of Conduct:

  • Plagiarism, unauthorised collaboration, or any form of cheating is strictly prohibited.

  • All code submitted must be the original work of the participant.

Scoring:

  • Each challenge will be assigned a predetermined number of points based on its difficulty.

  • Points will be awarded based on the correctness, efficiency, and elegance of the solution.

  • In case of ties, additional criteria such as code readability and comments may be considered.
