Rule Book
1. Objective:
The Neutron Battle of the Bands is an event aimed at showcasing the musical talent of college students. The objective is to provide a platform for aspiring musicians to exhibit their skills, entertain the audience, and compete for recognition.
2. Eligibility:
Participation is open to all currently enrolled college students.
Each band must consist of at least three members and no more than six members.
All genres of music are welcome.
Participants must submit a video or short clip as a demo of their performance along with their registration.
3. Registration:
Bands must register their participation prior to the event.
Registration forms will be available online, and deadlines will be strictly enforced.
Each band must provide their band name, member names, contact information, and a link to their demo video.
Registration is free of charge.
4. Demo Submission:
Demo videos should showcase the band's talent and musical style.
Videos must be submitted via the provided online platform.
The duration of the demo video should not exceed five minutes.
Videos must be of high quality and clearly demonstrate the band's performance abilities.
5. Selection Process:
A panel of judges will evaluate the demo videos to select the finalists.
Criteria for selection include musical talent, stage presence, originality, and overall performance quality.
The judging panel's decisions are final and binding.
6. Final Event:
Finalists will be notified in advance and must confirm their availability for the live event.
The final event will take place on the designated stage at the Neutron fest within the college campus.
Each finalist band will be allocated a specific time slot for their performance.
Live performances must not exceed ten minutes in duration.
7. Equipment and Setup:
The organizing committee will provide basic sound equipment and technical support.
Bands are responsible for bringing their own instruments, amplifiers, and any additional equipment required for their performance.
Soundcheck times will be allocated prior to the event to ensure smooth performances.
8. Judging Criteria:
Musical Talent: Skill level of individual band members, cohesion as a group, and overall musicianship.
Stage Presence: Charisma, energy, and engagement with the audience.
Originality: Creativity in musical composition, arrangement, and performance.
Overall Performance: Overall impact and entertainment value of the performance.
9. Awards:
Awards will be presented to the top-performing bands based on the judges' scores.
Categories may include Best Overall Performance, Best Vocalist, Best Instrumentalist, and Audience Choice Award.
Prizes may include trophies, certificates, and opportunities for future performances.
10. Code of Conduct:
All participants must adhere to the college's code of conduct and respect the rules and regulations of the event.
Any form of misconduct, including but not limited to inappropriate behavior, offensive language, or disrespect towards fellow participants, judges, or audience members, will result in disqualification.
11. Disclaimer:
The organizing committee reserves the right to amend or modify any rules or procedures outlined in this rule book as necessary.
By participating in the Neutron Battle of the Bands, all participants agree to abide by the rules and decisions made by the organizing committee and judges.
